SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL PENNSYLVANIA FAIR
With the recent downturn in the economy, state financial support for agricultural youth programs and fairs have been in drastic decline.
Fairs provide competitive opportunities in family and consumer living, 4-H and FFA, livestock shows, and harness racing plus offer great food and entertainment. They combine agriculture, rides, tourism, and education for the benefit of local communities and are fun and affordable destinations for families. “Fairs are a great way for the agricultural community to reach out to our non-farm neighbors to show how we are all connected,” states PA Agricultural Secretary. “As fewer people are involved in production agriculture, fairs are just one way people can learn about the important role farms play in our lives and communities in an enjoyable, engaging way.” Fairs continue to hold to past traditions of rural life by maintaining an agricultural focus, while celebrating the progress and future of the industry.
Your support and influence through the Friends of Pennsylvania Fairs organization will help sustain agricultural education, youth opportunities, civic participation, and provide affordable destinations for families. Your membership fee, and any donation, will be used to promote Pennsylvania’s 4-H, FFA and fairs. Become a member and/or make a donation today.
Friends of Pennsylvania Fairs is an unincorporated organization dedicated to supporting the Fair Program in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
